Psychological Evaluations

I offer psychological evaluations to assess for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children (ages 6 and up) and adults. These evaluations are designed to help individuals better understand whether their symptoms, history, and lived experiences meet criteria for a diagnosis of ADHD or ASD.

These are not neuropsychological evaluations. Research indicates that a neuropsychological evaluation is not always necessary to diagnose ADHD or ASD. My services are intended to provide accessible, affordable, and high-quality evaluations for those seeking diagnostic clarity for school, work, or personal insight.

Each evaluation is guided by a neuro-affirming perspective and utilizes gold-standard, evidence-based assessment tools to ensure an accurate and respectful understanding of each individual’s unique profile.

What to Expect

  • A 3–4 hour in-person evaluation session, including a detailed clinical interview, standardized testing, and behavioral observations.

  • A diagnostic letter summarizing findings, diagnoses (if applicable), and specific recommendations for accommodations or supports.

  • A two-week turnaround time following the evaluation for receipt of your diagnostic letter.

  • An optional follow-up meeting to review results, ask questions, and discuss next steps.

My goal is to create an evaluation process that is respectful, validating, and empowering, helping each person move forward with greater understanding and confidence.

Evidence-Based Testing Measures

  • The ADOS-2 is a widely used, research-supported assessment tool designed to help evaluate for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is considered one of the gold-standard measures for assessing social communication skills, social interaction, play, and restricted or repetitive behaviors.

The ADOS-2 is structured like a series of interactive activities rather than a traditional test. During the evaluation, the clinician and the individual engage in tasks and conversations that allow the clinician to observe behaviors that are important in understanding autism-related characteristics. The activities are designed to feel natural and conversational, and they are tailored to the person’s age and language abilities.

The ADOS-2 includes different modules so that it can be used with children, teens, and adults. The clinician selects the module that best matches the individual’s communication level.

  • The MIGDAS-2 is a gentle, conversation-based tool that helps me understand how a person experiences the world, especially in the areas of social communication, sensory preferences, and everyday thinking styles.

Unlike traditional tests, the MIGDAS-2 feels more like a guided conversation and observation. It is designed to help people share their experiences in a way that feels natural, comfortable, and respectful.

The MIGDAS-2 helps highlight how a person communicates and connects with others, what types of sensory experiences are calming or overwhelming, how they approach routines, play, problem-solving, or special interests, as well as strengths and unique traits that might not show up on standardized tests.

It provides a rich, descriptive picture of someone’s experiences rather than just scores or numbers. This makes it especially valuable for neuro-affirming evaluations, as it captures lived experience in a respectful and person-centered way.

  • The DIVA-5 is a structured interview designed to assess ADHD symptoms across the lifespan. It covers current and childhood experiences, looking at attention, focus, impulsivity, and hyperactivity in school, work, and daily life. It provides a clear framework for understanding whether ADHD criteria are met and how symptoms impact daily functioning.

No lengthy pre-appointment forms to complete!

Having worked with this population long-enough, I’ve decided not to torture clients with lengthy pre-appointment tasks to complete, or torture myself with the task of reaching out to make sure they get done on time!

Priority status on waitlists for therapy and other support services.

I have worked hard to establish relationships with local service providers in order to ensure that when I recommend a service, that service is accessible within a reasonable time-frame.

Dr. Katie Quinn

I am a clinical psychologist who specializes in neuro-affirming evaluations for ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children, adolescents, and adults. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and I have worked in both community mental health and private practice settings, providing psychological assessments and therapy across the lifespan.

Throughout my career, I have discovered that my deepest professional motivation is to support and strengthen the well-being of parents and caregivers. When parents feel understood, supported, and empowered, it positively shapes the experiences of their children—and, ultimately, future generations. This belief guides my work, whether I’m assessing a child’s needs or helping an adult gain clarity about their own neurodivergence.

I also value working with adults who are beginning to understand their own histories and recognize the need to re-parent themselves—developing new patterns, building emotional awareness, and learning to meet their needs with greater compassion. I deeply respect the courage it takes to do this work, and I aim to provide an evaluation experience that is validating, collaborative, and grounded in personal growth.
